4th of July Crafts

Need something to do with your little ones to celebrate the 4th of July? I have a few ideas that require very little prep and will make your home look great! There is just something special about the colors red, white, and blue!

Uncle Sam Hats

How to make:

To make these hats, first cut your paper out the middle of your paper plate leaving only the ridged part. Next, using the plate as guidance, make the bottom part of the hat using blue construction paper by cutting a rectangle. Then, make a large rectangle using red construction paper. Using your star cookie cutters, draw three stars on your white paper and cut them out. Glue the stars to the blue rectangle and then glue the rectangle to the top of the paper plate. Next, attach the red rectangle vertically to the blue one with glue. Last, glue cotton balls to the paper plate! Now, you have yourself an Uncle Sam hat! A friend of mine suggested taking photos of the kids in them like the one above, putting it in a frame, and then using the photos to decorate every year for the 4th of July!

Ice Cream Display

How to make:

First, paint your cones using the gold acrylic paint. Next, paint each ice cream scoop by alternating colors (red, white, and blue). Then, use your glue to make a criss cross pattern on the cone and sprinkle glitter on it immediately (before the glue dries). Last, decorate the cones with all of the fun stuff like buttons, jewel decals, and star stickers! Now, it’s ready to hang!

4th of July Firecrackers

How to make:

To make these firecrackers, paint your popsicle sticks red, white, and blue. I did three red, three white, and three blue to make three different firecrackers like shown above. Next, glue the red, white, and blue popsicle stick together using the hot glue gun. Next, cut out three triangles from the glitter scrapbook paper and glue them to the top of the popsicle sticks. Add your gold stickers to the middle parts of the popsicle sticks. Last, glue your ribbon to the bottom of the popsicle sticks to give the firecracker effect! I used one red, one white, and one blue!

4th of July Wands

How to make:

First, paint the three stars red, white, and blue. Next, paint the USA letters red, white, and blue. Glue the USA letters to the stars once everything has dried using a hot glue gun. Then, using the regular glue, glue the edges of the stars and sprinkle glitter on it before the glue dries. After, glue the wooden dowels to the back of the stars and add ribbon! These are perfect for photos or a 4th of July parade!

I hope you love these crafts as much as we do! Tag me on Instagram if you try one! I would love to see it!
