Halloween Treats

Trick or Treat? Treats for me, please! There’s no better way to celebrate the spooky holiday than with delicious homemade treats! If you’re anything like me, then you love a fun and EASY treat. The less ingredients and instructions-the better! Check out my recipe for Monster and Bat Oreo Truffle Balls. They got the seal of approval from my boys.

Gather your ingredients and get ready for the fun!

First, pulse the full box of Oreos (you can keep the Oreo in one piece) in a food processor or blender. (I used our Ninja and it worked perfectly!) Add the softened cream cheese to the blender and beat until it’s fully combined.

Roll the Oreo and cream cheese mixture into balls about one inch in size. Put the balls on a sheet pan with parchment paper or silicone baking mats. Leave them in the refrigerator to cool for an hour.

While the Oreo truffle balls are cooling, I start preparing my bat wings. I use a knife to carve the wing shape and set aside 2 wings for each bat. You need do this delicately because the Oreos can break easily.

Once the balls are chilled, start melting the candy melts according to the package directions. Stir the melts until they are fully liquid. For my monsters, I used blue candy melts and for my bats, I used brown chocolate melts.

Next, put the ball on a fork and dip it into the melted chocolate. Use a spoon to cover the entire ball then place it on back onto the parchment paper or silicone baking mat. For the monsters, add the eyeballs to the front and sprinkles to the top before the melts harden. For the bats, add the eyeballs to the front and Oreo bat wings on the side before the chocolate hardens.

Last, let the Oreo truffle balls cool and they are ready to serve! Oh and of course decorate the plate with these awesome spiders! The truffles need to be refrigerated and will be good to eat for a few of days. Enjoy!!

Are you Team Bat or Team Monster!?

XOXO,

Jaimie
